Missouri River Voyage: 86 Days in a 17 Foot Canoe
Journey down America's longest river with Gary and Linda, paddling 2,341 miles through seven states, starting in Three Forks, Montana and ending in St. Louis, Missouri. Share the highs and lows of their adventure, from paddling through the most beautiful scenery in the country to abandoning the tent and taking shelter in a vault toilet to survive a tornado. Because the Mighty Mo was at flood stage all summer, the current was fast and legal campsites without herds of cows were hard to find. As Gary said later, this trip was not for the faint of heart!
Gary and Linda DeKock have paddled together for almost 50 years, and surprisingly, are still
married and on speaking terms. After retiring five years ago, they began planning longer paddling trips, including their 2,291 mile Mississippi River Voyage and 1,173-mile Five Rivers Voyage (Wisconsin, Mississippi, Illinois, Des Plaines, and Chicago rivers). They feel privileged to be able to do what they love to support their favorite cause. To date, their voyages have raised over $66,000 for Water For People.
We recommend joining the fun at the start time. We may not be able to accommodate those who arrive more than 15 minutes into the activity.
FEE: Included with the price of admission.
