Supervisor’s Message The order of our priorities
To remain a desirable place to live and work, every community establishes unique priorities with the goal of attracting new residents and businesses. Now that the millages for our police, re and rescue services are renewed, Clinton Township residents and local business owners can rest assured that the protection they expect will continue. Prior to the August 7, 2018 election, there was plenty of false and misleading information about the millage
that was mailed to residents. I am so thankful that the overwhelming majority of voters saw through the dishonesty.
Recreation, in its many forms is also an important community priority. It’s no secret that Clinton Township has some of the best parks in the area for residents to recreate in. Recently, we were able to partner with Macomb County to begin managing an underutilized area along the Clinton River known as the Nicholson Nature Center. This beautiful natural area, located behind the Public Works building off Dunham Road, now joins the list of Township parks that are open for area residents to enjoy every day of the year. When traveling there, look for the “signature blue” Clinton Township sign on the north side of Dunham Road, just east of Little Road. Turn in and head toward the back of the parking lot and on your left you’ll see the large archway that marks the entrance. Walk through and you’ll experience a real treasure to explore. You can nd directions to all of our parks on the Township’s revised website at clintontownship.com/parks.
It has long been a priority of mine to work with Macomb County and our Board of Trustees to secure the funding necessary to repair and maintain our roads. As you know by now, a township form of government receives no money to help with roads,

sidewalks and bike paths. However, a nancial partnership with the County’s Department of Roads has allowed us to complete several projects
that would not have been done otherwise. Speci cally, those projects saw repairs made to Rivergate Drive and Weideman Street, as well as Green eld Road. Anyone who uses
these roads will be pleased
with the results.
Supervisor Bob Cannon
Due to the contractors’ association and operating engineers’ union work stoppage last September, three road projects are delayed until next spring. Two of those are Little Mack south of 15 Mile, and Little Mack from Groesbeck to Weybridge. Our contribution to these projects came from the Township’s general fund, and I want to thank my fellow board members for their unanimous support of these projects. I will continue to make it a priority to bring forward more projects like these, as the County provides the opportunity for partnership.
I hope you and your family have a safe and happy winter here in Clinton Township. I look forward to seeing many of you at our annual holiday events in December. And don’t forget that we have one of the few sledding hills in Macomb County on our Civic Center campus for those snowy days that are on
the way!
