GET OUTSIDE
SATURDAY, JUlY 20 2:00 p.M. S’mores & the Great Fire of 1805
On July 11, 1805 the city of Detroit burned to the ground from a fire started at the local bake shop. The lack of a professional fire department at the time left city residents to fend the fire for themselves by making a bucket brigade. Discovery the history of this event while enjoying some S’mores. At the end of the program we will fetch water from the river to put out the fire just as our historical Detroiter’s did over 200 years ago.
FEE: Included with the price of admission.
