Bugging Out
Come out and learn about the creepy crawlies found within Michigan waterways. Benthic macroinvertebrates are small aquatic bugs that tell us about the overall health of rivers, streams, and lakes. This program will give you a better understanding of the macroinvertebrates found in local waterways and what they mean to the stream’s health.

Finding and Rearing Giant Silk Moths with Nature Discovery
Some of our continent's largest, most impressive moths can be found right here in Michigan, yet many people can go years without encountering one. Join us for a fascinating look at these beautiful night creatures and learn how you can find them and care for the caterpillars in your home. A limited number of these caterpillars may be available for guests to take home and raise as a fun, educational family activity. Great for the budding scientist of any age!

SUNDAY, JUlY 14 2:00 p.M. Become a Snake Scientist
Michigan is home to 18 species of snakes, and some of them live right nearby! This program will focus on a few of the snake species that inhabit our region. We will practice our snake ID skills, learn about the different needs of different snakes, and debunk some myths about these misunderstood reptiles. You may even get a chance to get up close and personal with one of our favorite snakes!!
