MY PHILOSOPHY OF ICT
EDUCATION
My philosophy in ICT education
ICT is a technology required for information processing, in particular, the use of electronic
computers, communication devices and software applications to convert, store, protect, process,
transmit and retrieve information from anywhere, anytime.
As a teacher in ICT education, I believe ICT plays important role in scaffolding process to
improve children's literacy which helps teachers to interact with learner's .If ICT is taught or
integrated in teaching will help students not only to know how to operate computers, but to use
technology as a tool for organization, communication, research, and problem solving, I will lead
the teaching of ICT in our school in order to prepare students to take their place in the
'information society. Being an ICT teacher involves both a strong understanding of ICT
knowledge, skills and processes as laid down in the school curriculum and exam syllabuses, and
how to incorporate these into other subject areas in the school. I will guide and help the students
to learn IT skills and knowledge in IT lessons and then develop them further through using IT in
other subjects. Part of my role will be to liaise with and support other subject teachers.
Therefore, throughout the IT teaching I will promote the wider uses of IT across the curriculum
as well as teaching IT as a subject.
