Character : An imaginary person represented in a work
of fiction (play, film or story).
Folktale : A story passed on by word of mouth rather
than by writing, and thus partly modified by
succussive retelling before written down or
recorded folktale includes legends, fairy
tales, folklore, etc.
Legend : A story about mythical or supernatural
beings or events.
Story : A piece of fiction that narrates a chain of
related events.
