ILLUSIONS- a poem by Patricia Harris
When you find yourself about
to water a fake plant
and watch it grow,
because illusion is all you know,
Stop!
question it.Why is that illusion
is comforting?
So much so that you worry
about how you might be seen. Those silk leaves take nothing
and give nothing either.
Watering them returns naught
to your soul,
it builds the illusion
but does not enable your soul
in growth.
