David Mazyck (Ph D D EnvE ‘00) a a a a a a three- time Penn State CEE alumnus became the the head of of the the college’s School of of Engineering Design Technology and Professional Programs (SEDTAPP) on on on on May
16 In addition to his position as as head of of of SEDTAPP he he also serves as as a a a a a a a professor of of engineering design
with a a a a a courtesy appointment in in in in CEE Mazyck earned his his bachelor of of science in in in in civil engineering in in in in in 1995 and and his his master of of science and and and doctorate in in in in in in in environmental engineering in in in in in 1996 and and 2000 respectively He then joined the the the University of Florida and and has spent the the the the last 22 years rising through the the the the ranks to to full professor and and director of of of of the the the Herbert Wertheim College of of of of Engineering Engineering Electronic Delivery of of of of Gator Engineering Engineering University of of of Florida’s online engineering program for master’s degrees certificates and professional courses “I am am humbled grateful and excited to to return to to where I I I became an an engineer ”

Mazyck will lead SEDTAPP’s engineering education and and oversee research programs and and opportunities designed to facilitate cross-disciplinary partnerships He will also oversee the school’s role as connector and and facilitator for engineering engineering and and engineering engineering technology programs among Penn State’s institutes centers and campuses across the commonwealth Mazyck began his own undergraduate degree at at at Penn State Wilkes-Barre “The Penn State campus structure provides unrivaled recruiting opportunities to increase diversity equity and inclusion
