                     Leilani,                                       You are amazing. Slowly you became my protector and friend for life. I rescued you from Chinatown,
                                                                    in those dark alleyways where you had learnt to call home. I still remember your smile vaguely, because
                                                                    each day you live, you have chosen to own.

                     a royal                                        least six weeks. I didn’t think I could handle you at first, but looking at you I knew I simply
                                                                    had to try. I thought I rescued you, but really, you rescued me.
                     child                                          As your never ending beauty becomes something for a beholder, I remind myself of the pit
                                                                    that I was once in. It was dark, desolate and sure enough, it swallowed me. It made sense
                     of heaven.                                     that I was there, afraid to cover the cold inside of me with warmth embrace.


                                                                    I will always mark the day I met you as the day destined for my heart to change. To love
                                                                    unconditionally and to serve as a reminder that heroes come at unexpected time, in
                                                                    unexpected places and in unexpected forms.
