JANMASHTAMI

“India is a country where every religion finds its home”, rightly said by Annie Besant.

                                        he beauty of Indian
                                        culture lies in its
                                 Tfestivals. Janmashtami,
                                 the day when Makhan Chor
was born, is one such festival
                                 celebrated all over the India
                                 with great enthusiasm. “The
mind acts like an enemy for
                                 those who do not control
                                 it” said Lord Krishna. As
                                 someone rightly said that
                                 “the right way to celebrate
                                 Janmashtami is to embrace
                                 and follow the teachings of
                                 Lord Krishna from Bhagwad
                                 Geeta”.
                                    DPS Jammu never lags
                                 behind in celebrating our
                                 rich cultural heritage.
Activities are a great way to
                                 help children in realizing the
significance of festivals in a fun learning way.
Inspired by this the Pre-Primary wing of Delhi
Public School Jammu conducted activities like Crown
Making and Flute Making. Pre-Nursery and Prep
classes made crown with colorful papers, peacock
feathers and various decorative materials and Students of class I made flute with straws and colourful
sheets under the guidance of their teachers.
The celebrations also conveyed and spread the message that true friendship like Krishna and Sudama
          never ends.
