Experiential learning helps a student
to gain concrete experience, reflective
observation, active participation and abstract
conceptualization. Giving equal weightage to
both indoor and outdoor activities is what
will make students well prepared with what
lies outside in the real world. Experiential learning is a way to constructive learning for children. It is a
way through which we can imbibe the teachings effectively in the minds of students which will help them
to access the tools and environment which they otherwise haven’t directly.
Thus to make our children well versed with different environments, the Pre-Primary wing of DPS
Jammu organized an experiential learning programme through a visit to Gurudwara on 4 November for
th
Prep class. The students were full of enthusiasm for this new experience. They followed the procedure of
Gurudwara and acted accordingly. They covered their heads before entering, opened their shoes, washed
their hands & feet. They also paid their due respect to the holy book ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ and relished the
blessed food i.e. Kada Prashad.
