CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION
“Calligraphy is an art form that uses ink and a brush to express the very souls of words on paper.”
elhi Public School Jammu organized Calligraphy Competition for the students of Class I on 11th
November 2022. The purpose of the competition was to improve the presentational skills and to
Dinculcate the habit of good handwriting and also to encourage the students to understand what
calligraphy is and what a stylised writing means.
The students took part in the competition with great zeal & fervour. They were given the inspirational
quotation on “Trees” to write. The students exhibited their writing skills through different forms of
calligraphic fonts. The assessment was done on the basis of writing style, curves & patterns, legibility
and beautification. This event was held with a view of the changing ways of communication due to the
growing interest in computers. In the era of technology, handwriting skills have been forgotten these days.
Such types of competitions are helpful to overcome these problems and also teach students how they can
improve their writing skills.
