BUS TERMINAL AT MARGAO
There has been a major push in the last 20 years, in development of public
transport systems (Metro, Bus systems) in Indian cities to reduce the
dependence on private vehicles – this in turn will reduce congestion on the
streets and help cut reduce pollution. Buses are one of the most economical
public transportation systems and provides the last mile connectivity. In
addition, inter-city travel brings a large number of buses in to cities.
New bus terminals are being developed across India to cater to the increased
traffic, many in PPP mode with a component of commercial space to make them
financially viable.
