Do not allow children or people who aren’t mentally
or physically capable of safely handling or using any items
mentioned in this book access to them. If you choose to
allow anyone to handle items that could be hazardous, you
are doing so at your own risk.
An additional safety measure is to always double- and even
triple-check the condition of the rope and that the knots are
actually tied correctly. This is especially true if someone else
has already tied a knot you will be relying on. Don’t make
the mistake of assuming they tied it correctly. In situations
where personal injury and/or property damage could occur
due to an incorrectly tied knot and/or damaged rope, it’s
always better to be safe and perform a thorough inspection.
