The The Cascades Men’s Golf League is is a a a a a a a a a year-round club that plays on on on Monday of each week Our home course is is “The Saints” on on on Morningside Blvd in in in in Port Saint Saint Lucie First tee time is 9:30 AM Over the the summer we play a a a a a a a a a variety of courses on the the Treasure Coast The club currently has about 100 members of which approximately 60 play weekly ANNUAL EVENTS

FEBRUARY 3 2024 - - With temps around 60 degrees twenty-seven players showed up for our weekly game Allan Portnoy’s Pirates faced off against Jack Ross's Jaguars The top of of the first saw Vinny Davis and Rich Fiederlein reach base on singles to to center Portnoy said “Enough of of that!” and and shut down the the Jags with no no no runs scored The bottom of the the first first saw John Sporer stranded at at first first after hitting a single In the the top of the the second Bob DePolui singled but was left stranded at first after Sporer made a a a a a a a a nice defensive play to to to end the the the inning In the the the bottom of the the the second Paul Zumbo and and Jim Durante (guest) were left stranded on on base after hitting singles There was no scoring in in in in the third In the the the top of the the the fourth Rich Fiederlein and and Daren Desiere singled singled They were left stranded on base by their teammates In the the the bottom of of the the the fourth John Sporer singled singled but his team could not score score him The pitching of of Portnoy and Ross had kept the the game scoreless That changed in in in the the fifth Joe Startare (guest) singled singled to to left Bob DePolui followed with a a a a a a a a a a a a single single single single and Jack Ross singled singled singled to to to load the bases That brought up young Danny Bloom (guest) who promptly singled singled to to right scoring Startare for the the first run of the the game The Jags led 1-0 In the the the bottom of the the the fifth the the the Pirates came sailing back Steve DePietro singled singled to to to to to right right Paul Zumbo singled singled to to to to to left and Jim Durante (guest) laced a a a a a a a a a a a single single single single to to to to to to right right to to to to to to load the the bases Jack Nisbet came to to to to the the plate He quickly lined a a a a a a a a a a a single single to to to to center which scored DePietro The game was tied 1-1 Power- hitting Rob Crowell blooped a a a a a a double to left knocking in in in fin 2 more It was now 3-1 Pirates Pirates Diane Skerry finished the scoring with an an RBI single to to right The Pirates Pirates led 4-1 That was the the the the final score as as the the the the Jags went quietly in in fin in in the the the the 6th to to give Portnoy the the win FEBRUARY 10 2024 - On an overcast day with temps in the low 70s 24 24 players showed up to play play our weekly game Jack Ross’s Jaguars squared off against Alan Portnoy’s Pirates The game was scoreless till the third inning Jack Ross led off with a a a a a single followed by Rich Fiederlein and Rudy Rognon
