Basketball Team

“Defense! Defense! PolyU!”, everyone was shouting and shocking
the stadium one year ago, which was the first time that the PolyU
Women’s Basketball Team playing in Southorn Stadium and winning
our first championship since year 2004.

Throughout this year, some of our players kept training hard for
recovering from injury. We had been patient to wait for the return of
the injured teammates. Two months before the champion game, all
injured teammates came back stronger and then we finally united as
a full team.

We kept fighting so hard just to get into the final game, and we did
it. We all knew communication, trust and support were the essential
elements to succeed in basketball court. Therefore, we did not
hesitate to talk to each other in the final. We trusted each other no
matter how bad the situation was and we supported
each other no matter how bad we felt.

The faith to win the championship had grown a lot
stronger because many of us were going to graduate this
year. We fully concentrated on the final match. And at the
end, we did it, we successfully defended the crown.

To conclude, the past three years were really tough
but memorable, from missing out of semi-final to
winning two championships consecutively. This feeling
was indescribable but all we knew that were trust and
love. We loved the team!

I sincerely hope that PolyU Women’s Basketball Team
will get a brighter future.
