Management vs. Governance
Management is concerned with the ability to make sound decisions and directing activities. Key to this sound decision-making is having access to appropriate information. IT Service providers are responsible for the deliver of this accurate and relevant information.
Governance is concerned with ensuring that everything that a service provider does, is aligned with and supports the objectives of the customer who is paying all the bills. Again, by being aligned with customer objectives, we ensure that we remain relevant and strategic. Governance is also concerned with fairness and equity; ensuring that everyone involved not only has the same understanding, but that providers are being honest with delivering what they promise.
