Access Management - The process responsible for delivery of access permissions that have already been granted by Security management or some other resource controller.
Also discussed in service operations are functions. Functions are groups of people who perform the work that has been defined within processes.
Functions discussed within Service Operation are:
Service Desk - The group of people responsible for being available as the single point of contact for all operational issues for users.
IT Operations Management - The group of people who perform all of the everyday work done within the datacenter (backups, restores, batch jobs, print output and distribution).
Technical Management - The group of people who are responsible for understanding, implementing, and managing the various technologies used to deliver services.
Application Management - The group of people responsible for understanding the technologies necessary for the support of applications throughout their lifecycle.
