Design Coordination Process
There are many activities involved in designing services that not only work, but for which the customer exhibits enthusiasm for their usage. Apple has become the largest tech company in the world (and the 2nd most valuable company by market cap) largely on the basis of their design and marketing ability. They are known for the design of products that are considered elegant, and easy to use. Talk to Apple customers and you will hear the same things over and over. “It just works.” All of this success at design did not just happen. Apple defined a philosophy of design, and then built systems (processes) that their designers could follow allowing consistent delivery of winning products. The design coordination process is a type of control mechanism to allow this type of highly successful outcome.
The design coordination process is responsible for ensuring the goals of the service design lifecycle stage are achieved. They act as the single point of coordination and control for all design activities and processes.
