Supplier Categorization
Managing suppliers can take up excessive amounts of time and energy. A supplier manager should concentrate their attention and activity on the suppliers that are most important to the organizational success. A categorization
scheme should exist within the supplier management process to categorize the supplier and their importance to the service provider and the services provided to the business.
Supplier Categories include:
• Strategic
• Tactical
• Operational • Commodity
