Why care about "Best Practices”?
Organizations are continually challenged by the marketplace to not only produce acceptable products or services, but to produce them in a consistent and cost-effective way. That competition forces organizations to continually look at how they do their jobs in comparison to other organizations of similar size and capabilities. If an organization finds itself below the comparable industry peers, they have to find ways to close the performance gap. Best practices are often the preferred way of achieving this objective.
Best practices are typically in wide industry use and include: • Public Frameworks
• Standards
• Proprietary knowledge of organizations & individuals
Challenges and opportunities faced by organizations change over time, requiring them to continually learn and adapt through innovative services, operating models, systems, and processes.
