Change Manager
• Receive, log, and prioritize RFCs
• Table all RFCs for CAB Meeting
• CAB agenda
• Forward RFCs to CAB Members in Advance
• Convene ECAB Meetings for all Urgent RFCs
• Chair ALL CAB and ECAB Meetings
• Authorize acceptable changes
• Co-ordinate all change, build, test and implementation schedules
• Review Activities all implemented changes for objective
accomplishment (PIR)
• Close RFC
• Produce Management Reports
CAB
• Provides assistance in assessing, prioritizing, and approving changes
• Advisory body
• Membership will vary based upon need, skill set, or knowledge
ECAB
Emergency advisory board
Change Manager and 1 or 2 additional high level IT executives
The Change advisory board is a group of advisors responsible for helping the change manager make good decisions regarding risk. Makeup of the CAB may change, even during a single CAB meeting, based upon particular issues being analyzed for approval, and knowledge areas where input is needed from subject matter experts. The CAB needs to have a clear understanding of risk across the whole range of stakeholder needs.
