  Release & Deployment Process
Release and Deployment Management builds, tests and delivers the capability to provide the services specified by Service Design to accomplish the stakeholders’ requirements and deliver the intended objectives. The primary objective of these activities is the protection of the integrity of the live environment.
Release & Deployment Process
Value to the Business
Release and deployment management delivers value to the business by delivering releases into production as agreed (told to do so by Change management process). This directed activity includes ensuring that the correct components are released as per the plan; and that all relevant steps have been taken to minimize the possibility of outage or unanticipated impact on already in-production services, minimize any unanticipated impact on operations or support, and also minimize any unanticipated impact on customers.
If these activities are properly planned and executed, IT environments will experience significantly less negative response to releases. Stable environments will remain stable.
