Continual Service Improvement
Effectiveness is how well something is done. Efficiency is a measure of how much something cost. Organizations must improve over time, or their competitors will overtake them and their abilities. If customers have the option of other service providers who are able to deliver the same level of service at a lower cost, they may choose that option. It is imperative that service providers contain their cost and deliver services that meet the customers needs.

The lifecycle stage of Continual Service Improvement looks to ensure that all IT deliverables are aligned with the current business needs and expectations. Also, by continually looking for improvement opportunities for all lifecycle stages, all processes, all roles, all skill-sets, or any other area that could be improved, CSI ensures that IT operates and delivers both effectively, and efficiently.
