Sadly on November 24, 2016 at age 26, due to issues of old age, Debbie said a  nal goodbye to Cool Brittany, her companion of 16 years.

Born in Bridgetown, Barbados, Patrick Husbands, Woodbine’s top jockey in 2000 became a Canadian Citizen in November of that year.
In 1994 it was brothers Anthony and Simon that  nally convinced Patrick to move to Canada to ride at Woodbine. Patrick has since become one of Woodbine’s all-time most successful jockeys recording more than 3080 wins since his arrival at the track.
He has won the Sovereign Award for Outstanding Jockey a record eight times (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2014) and was inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 and received the Avelino Gomez Award in 2014.

day, the  rst jockey to ever have done so. It was an amazing feat as Patrick was coming back that year after breaking his right leg in two places in late Spring 2013 at Woodbine.

Cup, his other victories were Sharp Impact in 2006, and Sterwins in 2010 who was bred and owned by Barbados native Eugene Melnyk.
