Against the Sky was a double winner for owner Bob Lef er and regular rider Frank Fuentes.After win- ning the Delta Colleen and Ballerina stakes races, Against the Sky was named Champion Older Filly and Mare in both the BC-bred and Open Divisions.
Tom Bell’s Blue Sky Holiday (Thomas and Tracy Bell, Lindsay McLeod and Dale Michaud) winner of the BC Oaks was named Champion 3-year-old Filly in the Open Division. Blue Sky Holiday is trained by John Snow.

Owner of Krazy Koffee Butch Goertzen, saw his good colt win $353,080 and the BC Derby
Trainer Craig MacPherson had a career year with multiple stake and Alberta Derby win- ner Arkhill and the good  lly Against the Sky
Surrounded by mantle-piece hardware Cindy Krasner enjoyed her much deserved moment. Krasner made several trips to the podium, the highlight being to accept the Diamond Award of Excellence for her outstanding contributions this past season at Hastings Racecourse. With Horse of theYear Krazy Koffee she shared the winner’s circle in four major stakes: the BC Derby, Richmond Derby Trial, Stellar’s Jay and the Chris Loseth and her good  lly P.S. Good N Ready, trained for Telford Farms, was named Champion 2-year-old Filly BC-bred Division. Krasner
led the entire trainer’s colony with seven stakes victories in total and  nished the season with $820,626 in earnings.
Nick and Pauline Felicella were inducted into the B.C.Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame in the Owners’ Category.
Leading breeders for 2008 was Canadian Horseracing Hall of Fame members Russ and Lois Bennett
