Constrictor Knot
This knot was invented in the 1930s by Clifford Ashley, the author of The
Ashley Book of Knots.
Its defining feature, compared to the clove hitch, on which it is based,
comes from the fact that the two half hitches do not work one after the
other, but together.
The constrictor knot is much more effective than the clove hitch and
will not come undone.
