44. Water Knot


               Also known as: Double Overhand Bend, Tape Knot, Tape Bend




               This knot works well with flat stuff like nylon webbing and leather straps as
               well as with conventional rope. It’s used by climbers, but also practical for
               extending the length of cargo tie-down straps.




                 Uses: load bearing; joining ends of straps, webbing, and ropes
                 Pros: easy to tie, secure; straps remain flat

                 Cons: difficult to untie in rope
