60. Turn and Two Half Hitches
Also known as: Half Turn and Two Half Hitches
This slightly simpler way to tie Two Half Hitches places a single turn—not a
round turn—around the fixed object. It’s marginally quicker to tie, requires
less rope if it is to be tied around a large object like a tree trunk, and
generates less friction against the object, making it less secure but easier to
adjust for tension.
Uses: hitch for any load perpendicular to object
Pros: strong, fairly secure, easy to tie and untie
Cons: less secure than a Round Turn with Two Half Hitches
