• The most basic geometric figure is a point. In fact, every geometric figure is just a
collection of points.
• An angle is formed by two rays that share an endpoint. Angles are classified by their
measures.
• Two lines are parallel if the distance between them is constant. Two lines are
perpendicular if they intersect at a right angle.
• Two angles are complementary if the sum of their measures is 90°. Two angles are
supplementary if the sum of their measures is 180°.
• Vertical angles are formed where two lines intersect. Vertical angles are congruent.
• Use a compass and straight edge to construct simple, yet accurate geometric figures by
hand.
