The Impact of Music
Music is a very important part of art and humanity. They have been with us for thousands of
years. It is not just an arrangement of notes but can express the person’s opinion, interests,
religion, and culture. Can it affect the listeners, their opinion, their culture, and the whole society?
Listening to cheerful music can cheer up a person while listening to sad music can make
someone feel sad or lonely. This is an example of how music can affect us and our thoughts.
Some music can even bring our old memories back and some can even affect a personal opinion
of something. They can change people emotionally. Without music, movies and video games
wouldn’t be fun. There is a reason behind why many people come to opera just to hear classical
music. It can restore their emotions, and their beautiful rhythm attracts them. Some therapists
use music to aid their customers mentally.
Music usually reflects the country or city's culture.
For example, Middle Age music was usually temple music, since they were deeply in religion.
However, can the music itself affect the culture? I believe that it does not affect the culture in a
straight way, just like other forms of art it still can inspire the culture on what to do, and it can
help the culture understand their mistakes or problems.
Music has the power to unite and separate people. People with the same interest in music can
unite with their interests. Just as I have said before, music can change someone’s mood and
emotion. Which means it can affect someone’s work power. Music with high tempos can make
people work harder and be more energized. It can help people feel happiness through the music.
Even when you are alone and trying to find which part of society you are in, music can help unite
with others, guiding them and boosting their creativity. Music is not just a beautifully arranged
note but a compass, some knowledge, a weapon, a power to unite everyone and most
importantly it is a way to express someone’s feelings and beliefs.
