Hi, Kids! Have fun coloring, reading, and exploring with Max and his friends.
One Mission
Amahoro! I am Claude from Bujumbura, Kids
Burundi. Welcome to Africa’s Great Lakes!
I live in an orphanage with 29 other kids. By Presents
the time I was 11, someone had killed my
mother, my father had died, and I was left to
care for my younger brothers until I was
forced to leave home alone.
Eventually, I ended up living on the streets of
Bujumbura. That is where I met Sister Lily.
She runs an orphanage and tells people
about Jesus in the streets near her home.
God used Sister Lily to rescue me from the
streets and to give me a loving home
where I was accepted.
When my roommate Albert decided to be
baptized, he shared God’s Word with me.
As a result, I gave my heart to Jesus.
It’s the best thing that has happened in my life. Now I am saved
and have true hope for the future! “Declare his glory among the
MAX’s TRAX nations, his marvelous works
among all the peoples!
The Great Lakes region is in the center of Africa. It received its name —Psalm 96:3 ESV
because of its many lakes, including Lake Kivu, Lake Victoria, and Lake
Tanganyika. More than 107 million people call this area home, and
Swahili is the most commonly spoken language. In 1998, OMS began its
work in Africa when migrants who lived in South Africa began
returning to their home countries to tell others about Jesus. Here are Africa
some of our favorite things about the Great Lakes region.
