Page 7 - Anthony Christian Book
P. 7

One of the most important artists in 'The Parker Collection' is Anthony Christian. I
discovered him in New York City in the early 1980s after reading an essay by the art
critic Gael McDonald Wood. A former child prodigy, Anthony is able to paint with the
skills of an Old Master and draw like Leonardo da Vinci. During 1983-84 I bought
most of his best paintings and drawings, which are being featured in this book.

For the first time, one can see a large collection of his work in one place and at one
time, at PaPA, and in this book. The results are impressive.

Yvonne and I hope you will enjoy Anthony Christian's paintings as much as we do.

"To look at the drawings and paintings of Anthony Christian whether a portrait, still
life or drapery study, is to see the world through renaissance eyes - a world of rich

earthy colors and forgotten sensualities. His work is at once powerful, robust,
sensitive - possessing a wonderful fullness - like drinking a good glass of red wine."
