      Common Whipping


        Prevents the end of a rope from fraying.
        The simplest of all whippings.
        Waxing the twine makes it easier to
        pull the loop under the whipping turns.
        To finish, use a Marlinspike Hitch
       (see pp.199–200) to prevent fine twine
