EXPERIENCE
LOYOLA LIVE (working title) is a modern-media, live
radio broadcast event that uniquely connects the
students and teachers of LOYOLA COLLEGE, WATSONIA
to their community, and provides them with the ultimate 21st
century, real-world, learning and teaching experience in 2020.
LOYOLA LIVE is a live community radio platform where students, teachers,
parents, alumnae, and stakeholders come together to share their story with their community,
and the world.
Co-hosted and produced by students, LOYOLA LIVE tells the 40-year story of the school’s
impact on current, and former students and teachers, their families and community.
It showcases what 21st century catholic education looks like from a student, teacher and
parent perspective, and discusses the rewards, challenges, opportunities and innovation
involved in shaping the future of the next generation of young people in the LOYOLA
COLLEGE family.
As part of this initiative, students will undergo basic training in radio, video and photography.
Working in media teams, they will produce live radio content, and be responsible for promoting
their shows to their school, and local community.
Awards and incentives will be offered to media teams who produce the most professional and
engaging segments, and to those students who achieve the greatest marketing reach in live
and on-demand listener numbers, and social media analytics.
