BACKGROUND AND AIMS

FOOTSCRAY LIVE is a unique local radio station with global possibilities.

Created by MAKING MEDIA AUSTRALIA - a media education provider with over 15 years
experience producing commercial radio content for the likes of Triple M, SEN 1116 and
ABC radio, FOOTSCRAY LIVE aims to connect with, and tell the story of the cosmopolitan,
vibrant and exciting inner city hub of Footscray, and the broader west of Melbourne.

WHY FOOTSCRAY LIVE?

With Footscray voted one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world (TimeOut 2019), the
development of the ground-breaking Footscray Learning Precinct, and the futuristic
Western Hospital, the property market and hospitality boom in the area, and it being the
home of Victoria University, one of the most respected tertiary institution in the world,
Footscray has a story to tell and a massive audience to tell it too.

THE FOOTSCRAY LIVE AUDIENCE

FOOTSCRAY LIVE will be run and managed by commercial radio trained students of
Footscray City College.

They will co-host, produce, and widely market and promote their live shows and podcasts
through their college networks, local media, business, community, youth, sporting and
non-profit networks in Footscray, and the west of Melbourne.

Through engaging radio interviews with expert panels and celebrity guests, and
informative and entertaining discussion, the station will target 10,000 local live and
podcast listeners during its student broadcast week between, 9th - 13th December this
year.

FOOTSCRAY LIVE TAKING IT TO THE PEOPLE

FOOTSCRAY LIVE student broadcast week will consist of daily outside broadcasts from
high traffic areas in Footscray.

It will unearth great local stories, and showcase the people in business, education, health,
arts, entertainment, hospitality and sports that are part of the fabric of their community.
