                                  Introduction To Ted-Talks And Language Reactor


               What is TED-Talks

                       TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) is a non-profit organization that aims to
               dedicate, educate and spread ideas by short presentations and talks in a way that is easily

               accessible and provides impressions and messages to the society (TED, 2019).  Furthermore,

               TED-talks is TED is a streaming video with the duration approximately 18 minutes or more
               which presents various kinds of great ideas from world scientists, researchers, leaders, artists

               and designers who are worthy of being displayed on the TED-talks stage to convey and spread
               ideas through public speaking presentation (TED, 2019).


                       TED-Talks can be accessed on the TED website which is freely licensed under Creative

               Commons.  TED-talks  are  also  displayed  on  various  social  media  sites  such  as  YouTube,
               Netflix, Facebook, LinkdIn (Hanna & Wigmore, 2022). Apart from that, there is also TEDx

               Talks. TEDx Talks is a local event similar to TED-talks which is pioneered and organized by
               volunteers  around  the  world.  In  contrast  to  TED-talks,  TEDX  Talks  are  held  in  a  smaller

               audience and are independent (TED, n.d.; TEDx, n.d.)



               What is Language Reactor?

                       Language Reactor that formerly known as Language Learning with Netflix (LLN) is a

               language  learning  tool  that  helps  and  supports  someone  in  finding  material  from  native
               speakers, understanding concepts and learning a language based on streaming videos such as

               YouTube and Netflix (Language Reactor, n.d., 2021). Language Reactor is a product based on
               a  sophisticated  chrome  extension  on  desktop  running  Windows  and  MacOS  which  is

               specifically  designed  to  improve  subtitle  performance,  namely  by  creating  dual  language
               subtitles on YouTube and Netflix (Fotheringham, 2023). Other features in Language Reactor

               including electronic popup dictionary, precise video playback controls, YouTube and Netflix

               catalogue,  Turtle  Tube,  Video  files,  Text,  Chatbot,  Phrase  Pump,  and  saved  items.  Those
               features support vocabulary learning using videos on YouTube or Netflix.
