Accounting Students Participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) at Durant Public Library
Three students and one professor volunteered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-6:00 from February 23 - April 15 to interview, prepare, consult and file federal and state tax returns for members of the community. In 2021, the VITA program prepared and e-filed over 500 tax returns. Students volunteered well over 150 hours each including training, testing, and tax preparation.
