        WHAT IS YOUR ASSOCIATION PROFILE?
Private Investigators Association of Idaho (PIAI)
(submitted by John Temblador, CPI, CIPA – PIAI Social Media Chair)
In 2007, the Private Investigators Association of Idaho (PIAI) Founder, Daniel Landis, considered forming a state
association with the following in mind: to provide support to those who wished to enter the field, to be a positive asset
to investigators who already had agencies, and to bring Idaho’s private investigators (PI’s) together to assist each other
within the investigative industry. After considerable research and discussions with Co-Founder, James Quintana, as well
as other state associations, Dan and James determined that it would be beneficial to create a new association for PI's in
        Idaho.

By 2015 PIAI had really started to grow the Certified Private Investigator certification program (CPI) was developed to
give validity and solid credibility to the PI's who wished to enter the program. The program was very successful and is
now recognized nationwide. Today PIAI is recognized by all 50 states and the investigative community.

To License or Not to License
(featured in May / June PI Magazine by Kelly Cory – Keystone Investigations, CA)
Kelly researched and outlined the history of PI licensing in the US, and the current trend to deregulate many states are
seeing – and as was happening in Colorado (and was vetoed after the article published). Kelly interviewed colleagues
        around the country for perspective.
