NCISS News and Updates

Passing of Kim Bucklin – wife of NCISS Past President Roy Bucklin
(shared by NCISS Past President Jim Zimmer)
With a heavy heart, I am passing along the news that Past President Roy Bucklin has recently lost his beloved wife, Kim.

Roy was the NCISS President in 2004-2005, and he continued to serve our Council long afterwards in handling our
website. I think I speak for all Past Presidents, Board members, and NCISS members in expressing our collective
        condolences to the Bucklin family.

May Kim’s memory always be a blessing.

Roy asked the following message be shared with NCISS

Kim enjoyed going to to NCISS conferences with her husband Roy. They both
enjoyed making friends with NCISS members. Many of them they still keep in
                                        contact with.

Kim supported Roy when he was president, board member, and webmaster of the
                                        NCISS web site.

Kim worked for 31 years in the Creative Arts Department at Allstate Insurance
Company Headquarters where she met the love of her life, Roy Bucklin. They were
married on September 22, 1984. Kim and Roy would have celebrated their
                                        40thanniversary in September.

Kim enjoyed gardening, going to craft shows and festivals, working at Didier Farms in the fall, hosting Christmas parties,
cheering on the Chicago Bears, laughing and spending time with family and many good friends. Roy and Kim enjoyed
vacationing in Florida and going on a cruise every 5 years to celebrate their anniversaries.

Over the years, Kim especially loved being mom to her fur babies, Brandy, Cody, and Bucky her pet dogs.

Kim’s friends and family say that she was one of the sweetest person they have ever met. She always had a smile and
the kindest heart. She will be sorely missed.

Kim passed away at home February 21, 2024
