                                                   Our Brave New World…
Unfortunately, we see the spread of a deadly virus. I know many of us are holed up at home or office following
quarantine-like guidelines from Federal, State and Local government. We are in a new world. Where we will go from
here is hard to say. But, our profession is strong and we will rebound.

Although we are likely to move our annual meeting, we are preparing to accommodate what we can during this
problematic time. As of now, our mid-term board will be hosted by the Arizona Association of Licensed Private
Investigators (“AALPI”) near Phoenix, Arizona. We welcome all to attend and are looking forward to this conference. This
should be a good meeting as we will have a packed 2021 agenda. I look forward to seeing each of you face-to-face.

                                                   COVID-19 Relief Package
Previously emailed, and in this Your Advocate, is information for the COVID-19 Relief Package (www.nciss.org/covid-
resources). This comes in the height of everyone bearing down amid CDC guidelines regarding the Coronavirus.
Hopefully, this time will pass, and we can all get back to our daily lives. I hope each of you are holding up the best you
        can and are staying healthy.

As you may be aware, Congress has now passed multiple aid packages for those affected by the Coronavirus. At the time
of this writing, it is difficult to say the exact impact. Whether one man or small business, these measures will have an
impact on all our businesses. What we know now is that it appears as if unemployment benefits will be extended to
those employees affected by the virus. Those individuals include small business employees. That may have real effect on
cash flow nationwide. It does appear that several tax credit packages are being considered for self-employed, small
business and others. In addition, the Small Business Administration appears to be poised to provide financial assistance
to several business concerns suffering from economic woes. NCISS will continue to disseminate this information as we
receive it on our list serve to each member.

NCISS is in close contact with our lobbyist on the hill. We are also reviewing this legislation as it is passed and will
forward any information to you through our normal list serve channels. I have already contacted the Legislative Advisory
Board (“LAB”) and placed them on notice. LAB is our committee whose members are representatives from each of the
various state member associations. LAB meets telephonically approximately every quarter to communicate legislation in
Washington and in the various state legislatures. This structure will work well for us as we receive important information
regarding relief legislation, tax breaks and other small business news.
