  2023-24 SERIE A SEASON PREVIEW
 JUVE
HONOUR
TIMOTHYWEAH LOOKINGFORWARDTOA GREAT SPELL AT JUVE
The 23-year-old American, Timothy Weah joined Juventus this summer.
He’ll look to make an impact and perhaps follow the steps of his iconic dad.
“I am very happy to be here at Juve. It is a blessing for me and my family. Thank you all for this opportunity, I am very honoured to be Bianconero.”
CHOOSING JUVE
“Choosing Juve was easy. When I learned that they were interested in me, I really wanted to come
here to write my own story. I knew this was going to be a big challenge, but as a professional I want to work, learn, listen to everyone and push myself to my limits. I`m ready, my first days here were fantastic, I was welcomed wonderfully by the club.”
HIS ROLE
“Last season I played as a winger and it comes very naturally to me, so I concentrated on this, trying
to adapt to the defensive aspect as well. I`ll play where it`s needed. I listen a lot to the coach`s advice. He`s a great person as well as a great coach, I`m sure I`ll be able to improve my game with him. He is very attentive to all the details, he told me to learn a lot from my teammates, to have fun and be ready to improve.”
THE STORY BEHIND NUMBER 22
“It`s my birthday and it`s also the first number my mum gave me when I started. I have since promised that I would wear the 22 on every team where possible. And here I am with the number `22` shirt.”
DELIGHTED TO JOIN JUVENTUS
“It’s a blessing to play for such a beautiful club,” Weah said, speaking to the fans on Twitch. “Now I just have to adapt and do what I can do.
“A few months before getting the call from Juve
I was playing football on my video game console, and my player was on Juventus. Then when I was told that Juve were coming to watch me and I played really well - it was something in the air that day. Once they were interested I knew I was gonna do whatever it took to get here.”
FEELING THE FANS’ LOVE
The fans have already made a big impression
on Tim, and he’s extremely appreciative of their support so far.
“They’re amazing. From the first day here I felt the love and I didn’t expect so many supporters to come and see me for my medical.
“The passion they showed me in the comments
was beautiful so I can’t wait to see the Stadium, I already know how it’s going to be. I just know it’s going to be loud and I can’t wait to meet everyone.”
TIM, TIMMY, TIMO OR TIMMO?
Weah has had a number of nicknames through
the years, but out of Tim, Timo, Timmo, Timmy or Weah, one has stuck more than the rest.
“It really doesn’t matter [what people call me]. I got used to everybody calling me Timmo. My mom did it first and then I went to Celtic and it became a huge thing there, so I let everybody call me that. But I’m cool with whatever.”
