LINDSEY HORAN (LYON/USA)
One of the few bright spots of the USWNT’s run
at this year’s World Cup, Horan is primed for a big season with Lyon. Although she battled injuries last season she did make 11 starts last season and score
5 goals. If she can come to camp with an edge after the USWNT’s early exit, European defenders better watch out.
JULIA GROSSO (JUVENTUS/CANADA)
Named the Midfielder of the Year last season
in Serie A, Grosso made 20 appearances for Le Bianconmere. She has become more of a dominant presence over the past few years with Canada and it seems to sync up with her strong run of form with Juventus. The Italian side will be playing the UEFA Champions League this season where they have proven to be a tough out over the past few seasons.
EVELYNE VIENS (AS ROMA/CANADA)
Viens made the jump in the offseason to Roma after a standout season with Kristianstad in Sweden where she scored 12 goals last season. In Italy she will have the chance to play with the defending Serie A Champions who are also in the hunt to qualify for the Champions League. She has made 21 appearances for Canada and is amongst the group looking to replace the legendary Christine Sinclair up top.
CLARISA LARISEY (BK HACKEN/CANADA)
Another standout from Sweden, Larisey had a strong season in the Damallsvenskan, scoring six goals last season. Although she was just on the outside of the Canadian World Cup roster, Hacken is in one of the final qualification groups for the Champions League.
