 SAY WHAT ?
“It seems to me, in terms of sports, he’s the greatest there is (...) But after having seen his series and getting
to know a bit more about him, you know, ‘The Last Dance’, it just blows your mind, it’s a masterpiece, it’s impressive.”
– Lionel Messi believes basketball legend Michael Jordan is the greatest sports person of all time.
“I have never thought about leaving LaLiga because otherwise I would give the racists what they want. I am going to continue in the best club in the world, scoring many goals so that they continue to see me. Racists are a minority.”
– Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr. makes it clear that racist abuse cannot force him out of the club.
I still don’t think I am a legend of
this club. I have said I want to win something with Spurs, then I want to be very happy to be called a legend.” – Son Heung-Min is Tottenham’s captain and one of the best players in the club’s modern history. However, to achieve the status of a club legend, he believes he still needs to raise a trophy for Spurs.
       42
Erling Haaland’s hat-
trick against Ipswich was Manchester City’s 42nd in the Premier League, the joint-most of any side in the competition’s history.
 WELL DONE REF !
Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has revealed what the referee told him after his wonder goal was ruled out. However, Palace were left fuming midway through the first half after Eze’s audacious free- kick was ruled out against Brentford. Referee Sam Barrott blew his whistle for a foul by Will Hughes on Nathan Collins as the ball travelled towards the Brentford goal. However, as the referee blew his whistle before the ball crossed the line, VAR was unable to intervene. As reported by London News Online, Eze revealed to BBC Match of the Day that referee Barrott admitted to him that he made a mistake. It proved to be a costly mistake as Palace lost the match 2-1.
MBAPPE CAM
ESPN streamed a dedicated “Mbappe Cam”
during the La Liga match between Real Madrid
and Mallorca. This specialized camera exclusively followed Kylian Mbappe throughout the game, providing fans with a continuous view of the French star’s every move on the pitch. Such dedicated player cameras are typically reserved for major tournaments like the World Cup and the Euros, underscoring the significance of Mbappe’s highly anticipated debut in Spanish soccer. The French superstar, however, could not find the back of the net as Los Blancos had to settle for a one-all draw in their La Liga opener.
...WITHOUT A PADEL
Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has revealed the new hobby he has picked up during the summer. Walker was given plenty of time off by City after helping England to the Euro 2024 final in Germany, playing seven times. But the former Spurs right-back has been keeping himself occupied in the summer, enjoying a new sport. Padel, a hybrid between squash and tennis, has become the new craze in the UK. Played in doubles on an enclosed court with glass panels and a wire mesh fence, it can be a brutal test of skill and fitness. And Walker has been getting stuck right into padel during his break.
