Survives Heart Attack
FORT LAUDERDALE – For days, Margaret Rains
had an uncomfortable feeling. She consulted
with her physician who adjusted her blood
pressure medicine, and following that change she
felt better. However, the relief didn’t last. Two days
before her 63rd birthday in February, Rains felt a
fullness in her chest.
“I started feeling achy and was short of breath,”
Rains said. “The burning sensation in my chest
stayed with me all night.”
After speaking with cardiologist Mammen P.
Zachariah, M.D., Rains went to Broward Health
Imperial Point’s Emergency Department where
she was diagnosed with coronary heart disease.

Within days, Rains was home. She has made
