MATHEMATICS

Mathematics classes can often be a struggle to some
students. Our Mathematics teachers are here to help! Mrs.
Swygert was the sophomore geometry teacher and her
enthusiasm for math while incorporating life stories made
class fun. Mr. Miller, who teaches Algebra I and
Advanced Qualitative Reasoning, likes to connect movies,
or shows that have math themes or influences to help

who teaches Algebra II and AP statistics, has many jokes
that keep us laughing. Whether it be the yearly repeats or
new ones he finds, we wait for the punch line as he spins
his glasses in his hand. Mr. Thek has been teaching
Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus and at YHS for many years.
He is the only math teacher that does not give out
homework; however, the daily quizzes are not much fun,
but they do prepare us for his tests. His test bonus
questions usually about geography, are also interesting!
