EXPRESS YOURSELF
This school year, students had to say goodbye to Ms.
Spears, and welcomed Mr. Martinez as the new teacher.
With the difficult job of taking over a new class more than
halfway through the year, Mr. Martinez quickly adapted
and led students out of their usual comfort zones and
challenged them to grow and improve as artists.
Customer is allowed to have objects outside of the margin.
“Mr. Martinez challenged us to work with three
mediums we didn't have much experience with. It was
fun, but I learned I really don't like oil pastels.”

The Yokota art program gives students the opportunity to
express themselves and their views of the word from their
perspective. Ms. Spears challenged students to create a
poster that addressed a world issue they were concerned
TRIM LINE TRIM LINE overworking. Mr. Martinez gave the art classes the TRIM LINE TRIM LINE
with, from endangered animals to burnout from
opportunity to explore surrealism and combine imagery to
create unusual pieces. AP Art students were given the
entire year to develop and express their ideas on a specific
theme.
