Even though 2021–2022 will be remembered as another year of
mask-wearing, hand sanitizing, and remote learning due to
Covid-19, it is also an example of the strength and resilience of
                                                the CDNIS community.

The academic year started off face-to-face, and we were able to
stay on campus with relatively normal activities resuming until
December. During this time, we cherished every moment
together and enjoyed the halls buzzing with enthusiastic student

chatter. The disruptions of the previous year had made us all the
more appreciative of the enormous benefits of on-campus
learning. Along with academics, the school focused on the
development of student relationships, conflict resolution, and
Lief Erickson social skills. Once it was time to shift to remote learning again,

the whole community didn’t miss a beat, and you could see that
students were equipped with the strong relationships they have
formed in the classrooms with their peers and teachers.

I was inspired and felt incredibly lucky to be part of a community
that worked together to say, “We’ve Got This!” For some of our
youngest learners, this is the only school experience they know,
while others will look back on their educational career and be
reminded of the importance of community, how their caring
teachers were always available, and how they can accomplish
anything they set their minds to.
