R22. A hank of rope similar to R21, measuring
0.25 by 0.08 by 0.05 m overall (76 K 155;
Site G, -13.3/0.7).
R24. Several pieces of sacking, found in con-
cretion (76 K 44; Site C, 3-8/9.1).
R25. Length of hair, possibly horse-hair, attached to a short piece of wood at one end. It appears to be the point of a fiddle bow (76 K 105; Site G, -12-5/0*0).
S.Leathenvork *
Parts of 12 boots or shoes have been found, on Sites F and G, along with other scraps of leather. S7. A scabbard for a long knife or short sword;
within the leather surround is a wooden stiffening board (73 K 306; Site F, -14.81 -1.0) (Fig. 36).
T. Objects of bone, horn, or ivory
T1. A bone knife handle, 0-087 by 0-023 by 0.020 m (73 K 323; Site F, -12.81-5.8).
T2. A collection of 16 bone dice (73 K 326; Site F, -14.5/-2.9).
T3. A perfect horn comb 0.069 by 0.045 m. After washing, this was slowly dried out by Mr Henderson within a small clamp to pre- vent it curling up; this procedure proved
totally successful(74K2;SiteF,-13.9/-1.9) (Fig. 37).

T7. A turned tubular object, probably of bone, almost certainly a lace bobbin (73 K 282; Site F, -14.11-1.7) (Fig. 38).
