fragments contained within a fine brown silt. Throughout the site, the organic matte was thicker towards the northern cliff, and petered out at the line of large boulders which marked its southern edge.
There was a very marked break in the deposit at about the 11-5 m mark, where the site was divided by two large boulders. Less than 20 artefacts had been found in the area east of this point, whilst the area to the west was well
